After suffering a 77–60 loss to South Korea, Coach Rena Wakama’s side showed their determination and resilience against the Philippines. According to Premium Times, the Asian
team started strongly, winning the first quarter 26–21 by capitalizing on defensive lapses from Nigeria. They continued their momentum in the second quarter, edging 25–21 to take a 51–42 lead into halftime.

Despite the slow start, D’Tigress turned the tide in the second half. Nigeria dominated the third quarter 34–21, overturning the halftime deficit and taking firm control of the game. Improved defensive pressure and faster ball movement disrupted the Philippines’ offense and set the stage for a strong finish.
In the final quarter, Nigeria maintained the tempo, outscoring their opponents 25–12 to close the match in commanding fashion.
