Afia Homes and Properties has bagged "The Biggest Indigenous Real Estate Developer of the Year 2026" award at the 11th City People Real Estate Awards
The firm dedicated the award to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.

Speaking with newsmen at the event organised by City People Magazine, the Chairman and CEO of Afia Group, Engr. Abduljelyl Karheem lauded the firm significant contributions and innovative projects in Nigeria's housing landscape.
Karheem stated that Oba Ladoja conceived the Afia dream eight years ago and encouraged him to return from London to establish the company in Ibadan.
"This dedication highlights the profound influence of Oba Ladoja on the company's genesis and success.

"Afia Homes and Properties continues to push boundaries in innovation and quality, renowned for creating serene and secure residential communities."
The firm projects include Afia Court, Afia Apartment, Mandamis Luxury by Afia, Magdalen’s Court by Afia, and The Crest by Afia.
The company has also partnered with Stanbic IBTC Bank to make homeownership more accessible in Ibadan and Oyo State, reducing down payment requirements and offering flexible repayment plans.
Karheem, who doubles as the Turaki Adini of Oyo State; Wakil Faido Tijaniyyah of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta states; and the Giwa Adini of Offa (Kwara State), was accompanied to the colourful occasion by the Okere of Saki, Oba Dr. Khalid Olabisi, Alhaja Mujidat Adanla; members of staff of Afia Group; family and friends.

Apart from his company's recognition, the Afia Group Chairman also received a special award on behalf of the Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde as The Most Real Estate Friendly Governor of the Year.
