Pillarcraft Cloud Solutions has introduced a new digital platform, UsawaConnect, to support Nigerian businesses in meeting the requirements of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) e-invoicing system.
In a statement released over the weekend, the company said the platform was developed to address growing concerns that many businesses are not ready for the transition to a new tax compliance regime where invoices must be processed and verified digitally.
Under the new framework, invoices are no longer treated as simple documents issued to customers. They must now follow strict requirements, including being digitally structured, validated through approved systems, assigned unique reference numbers and submitted electronically before they are recognised as valid for business transactions.
Pillarcraft explained that this shift marks a major change in how companies handle billing, revenue reporting and compliance with tax laws. It added that the transition will be implemented in phases, beginning with large companies that generate N5 billion and above in annual turnover. These firms have already entered the enforcement stage.
The company said medium-sized businesses, with annual turnover between N1 billion and N5 billion, are expected to come under the system from July 2026, while enforcement for that category will begin in January 2027.
According to the statement, businesses that fail to prepare for the new system could face serious challenges, including rejected invoices, delays in receiving payments, disruption to operations and greater exposure during tax audits.

Pillarcraft described UsawaConnect as a bridge between existing business systems and government regulatory requirements. It said the platform allows organisations to continue using their current accounting, enterprise resource planning and point-of-sale systems while automatically generating compliant invoices and transmitting them to the NRS platform.
The company noted that although the regulation directly affects businesses, its implementation will largely depend on professionals such as accountants, tax practitioners and technology consultants who will guide organisations through the process.
Chief Executive Officer, Pillarcraft Accounting and Cloud Solutions, Bayode Agbi, said the transition to e-invoicing will require expert support for most companies.
“E-invoicing is not something most businesses can implement on their own. Accountants and advisors will be at the center of this transition. UsawaConnect enables them to deliver this efficiently, while helping businesses stay compliant without disruption,” he said.
As part of the rollout, the company also introduced the UsawaConnect Partner Programme, which will allow accounting firms and consultants to provide implementation services, support clients through compliance changes and create new advisory and recurring income opportunities.
Pillarcraft added that the platform is designed to serve large organisations preparing for early compliance, medium-sized businesses approaching regulatory deadlines and small and medium enterprises looking for a simple and scalable way to meet the new requirements.
