Zamfara State First Lady Huriyya Dauda Lawal had presented vehicles and financial grants to some prominent creative artistes in the state.
The initiative, executed by the state Deputy Governor Mani Mumuni, underscored the administration’s Rescue Mission philosophy, ensuring that dividends of democracy reach every sector, including the custodians of culture and the creative economy.
This was revealed in a statement signed by the first lady’s spokesperson, Rabi Yusuf, in Gusau.
Speaking at the Government House in Gusau, Mrs Lawal said the creative sector is a vital pillar of social cohesion and economic potential.
The first lady facilitated the distribution of specialised vehicles tailored to the logistical needs of the beneficiaries, including the DLD Singers Forum, which received an 18-seater bus to enhance their mobility for state-wide outreach and performances.
The Zamfara State Cultural Troupes received a Sienna vehicle to strengthen their capacity to represent the state at national and international cultural festivals.
Alhaji Mande Marafa, a famous traditional musician, was honoured with a Volkswagen Golf vehicle in recognition of his lifelong dedication to indigenous music.
The first lady announced a N1 million cash grant for the beneficiaries to cover their immediate operational costs and creative projects.
