Here are five things to know about the re-launched monthly sanitation exercise:

1. Start date and time: The exercise begins Friday, April 25, 2026. It will hold every last Saturday of the month from 6:30 am to 8:30 am.

2. Movement restriction: Movement will be restricted during the two-hour window. Residents are expected to stay home and clean their immediate surroundings.

3. Symbolic launch already held: The state held a symbolic launch of the programme along the Mushin–Agege Motor Road corridor on March 14 before the full rollout.

4. Why it stopped: Lagos suspended monthly sanitation in November 2016 after a court ruled that restricting movement during the exercise was unlawful.

5. Purpose: The exercise aims to promote environmental cleanliness and hygiene. Residents will clean their homes, drains, and surroundings within the designated period.
