The Benue State Government has ordered security agents to flush out bandits from the state.

This was part of a comprehensive operation aimed at dismantling identified camps within forests across various parts of the state.

The governor took the action in response to recent attacks on several communities, which resulted in significant loss of lives.

According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Kula Tersoo, “ the  governor emphasised that the protection of lives and property remains the administration’s paramount priority and assured residents of the government’s commitment to collaborating with federal security agencies to achieve enduring peace.

Furthermore, he urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with security operatives, while extending condolences to families who have lost loved ones, reiterating his administration’s resolute determination to ensure the safety of Benue State for all its citizens.

The Nation learnt that the governor was reacting to  the brutal attacks on Edikwu-Ankpali, Ikobi, and Adija in Apa Local Government Area as well as Upu village in Otukpo Local Government Area in Benue South Senatorial district which left many dead, with property destroyed.
