Former Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, has declared his intention to contest the Kaduna North Senatorial seat, saying his decision followed sustained pressure and overwhelming support from stakeholders across the district.
Yero, in a statement, said he accepted the call to serve in response to the confidence reposed in him by the people of the zone.
He said the decision was further reinforced during a solidarity visit by Local Government Chairmen from the senatorial district, who unanimously endorsed his aspiration.

The former governor described the endorsement as a strong demonstration of unity, trust and shared purpose, adding that he embraced the responsibility with humility and a deep sense of commitment to the people.
According to him, the encouragement from political leaders and residents of the district reflected a collective resolve to deepen representation and advance the development of the zone.
Yero expressed appreciation to the council chairmen and the people of Kaduna North for what he called their confidence in his leadership and for urging him to answer a noble call to service.
He said leadership remains a sacred trust and prayed for divine guidance, wisdom and strength to serve with justice, fairness and compassion.
The former governor also hailed Governor Uba Sani for what he described as purposeful leadership and commitment to the unity and progress of Kaduna State.

He urged stakeholders, party members and residents of the senatorial district to remain united, peaceful and committed to the collective development of their communities.
Yero pledged to work with the people to build a more prosperous and inclusive future for Kaduna North Senatorial District.
He said his aspiration was driven by a desire to offer quality representation and contribute meaningfully to ongoing efforts at strengthening governance and improving the wellbeing of the people.
The former governor added that with unity of purpose and sustained cooperation, the district could consolidate on its gains and chart a new path of progress.
