Ndigbo for Tinubu 2027 Forum has restated its commitment to securing a landslide electoral victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential elections.
The Forum disclosed this in a statement signed by the National Coordinator Okechukwu Isiguzoro and General Secretary Dr Ugwuoke Ugwuoke Jr.
The Forum said: "Our conviction is rooted in the firm belief that with the strategic leadership of Senator Dave Umahi and other unwavering allies of President Tinubu, particularly in the Southeast region, a decisive victory is assured.
"NDI-ABAT takes this solemn opportunity to candidly address President Tinubu with a message that is both a reflection of the political realities and an unflinching forecast of the challenges ahead. We have gathered the courage to state a bitter truth: the support of many Igbo governors in the Southeast may not be sufficient in rallying the people behind President Tinubu’s candidacy. Their detachment from the grassroots, and the stark disconnect between these leaders and the electorate, pose a significant hurdle for President Tinubu's chances of winning the Southeast in 2027.

"The tragic reality, which too many have failed to convey to the President, is that these governors are woefully out of touch with the needs and aspirations of the Igbo people. Their actions have consistently undermined the very democratic processes that could have uplifted local communities.”
A glaring example is their role in sabotaging the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Local Government Autonomy Act—an act that could have granted local governments more control and autonomy, thereby enhancing grassroots development. The abandonment of this pivotal decision leaves a bitter taste in the mouths of the people, who now see these leaders as self-serving figures rather than agents of positive change."
In light of this, NDI-ABAT implored President Tinubu to recalibrate his expectations and not place undue trust in the hands of the governors. "Their ability to deliver in 2027 is, at best, questionable, and at worst, they may betray the trust of the President, putting his political fortunes in jeopardy. For this reason, NDI-ABAT advocates for a more robust, grassroots-driven campaign led by figures with genuine influence, credibility, and a track record of delivering for the people.
