...unveils 2026 plans

The Akinjide Adeosun Foundation (AAF) is set to mark its 10th anniversary with a renewed commitment to grooming future leaders and expanding its social impact across Nigeria.

Founder and chairman, Akinjide Adeosun, a pharmacist, in a statement, said the foundation, established in 2015, has made significant strides toward its vision of building a pipeline of “ready leaders” by 2035.

Adeosun noted that over the past decade, the foundation has focused on shaping values such as excellence, integrity and empathy through practical interventions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly zero hunger, good health and well-being, and quality education.

According to him, thousands of Nigerians have benefitted from AAF’s flagship programmes, including its Food Bank initiative, free medical outreach missions and educational training schemes.

He added that the foundation has also recognised individuals and institutions demonstrating exemplary leadership through a series of awards across primary, secondary and tertiary levels.

To commemorate its decade-long journey, Adeosun announced a lineup of activities for 2026, headlined by the foundation’s annual colloquium and awards ceremony scheduled for April 25 in Lagos.

Themed: “Trust Surplus: An Imperative to Building a Wealthy Sovereign Nation,” the event will feature discussions by experts across sectors including defence, technology, health, and family life.

He  said that notable recognitions would be conferred during the event, including “School of the Decade” to Corona Trust Council, “Excellence in Leadership Award” to  Olujimi Agbaje, a pharmacist and “Sponsor of the Decade” to Megamound, in honour of their contributions to leadership development and societal growth.

As part of the anniversary activities, the foundation is also engaging the media through a dedicated briefing aimed at amplifying awareness of its work.

Other initiatives lined up for 2026 include the continuation of its Food Bank programme targeting low-income workers such as cleaners and security personnel, and an Education Fair designed to provide career guidance and mentorship to senior secondary school students across key professions.

Adeosun  revealed that the foundation would sustain its health mission targeting underserved communities, while introducing a new clean energy initiative to provide solar power solutions to households lacking electricity.

The initiative, he said, is aimed at enabling students from disadvantaged backgrounds to study in conducive environments, thereby improving academic outcomes.

Reflecting on the foundation’s journey, Adeosun said its interventions have contributed to raising a generation of young leaders, improving access to healthcare, and enhancing overall well-being among beneficiaries.

He called on corporate organisations and non-governmental organisations to partner with the foundation to scale its impact and accelerate leadership development in Nigeria and beyond.
