Four kidnapped victims have regained their freedom in Kwara State.

The victims were abducted along Omu-Aran-Isanlu-Isin Road on January 5, 2026.

A security source, which confirmed the release of the abductees, said:” The released individuals are receiving treatments in various hospitals in Ilorin and Omu- Aran respectively.

“But in another twist of events, one person was killed and another one kidnapped yesterday ( Tuesday) evening on the Correctional Centre Road.

Residents of Isanlu-Isin and their neighbours are in panic as a result of which some schools have closed down,” the source added

Similarly, a suspected bandit, who disguised as a beggar, was arrested in Igbaja, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday evening.

The source added: “The suspect was caught disguising himself as a beggar in Igbaja.”

It said they had received intelligence that some bandits had fled Baba Sango after realising that their informants posing as beggars were being tracked while they were roaming towns and villages across Kwara south.

It also said  the bandits hibernating in Baba Sango and Oro-Ago were spreading to other parts of the senatorial district, using disguises to avoid detection.
