The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Sector Command, has recorded a 100 per cent conviction rate following a mobile court sitting that saw 25 traffic offenders prosecuted and convicted in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The court session, which was held at the RS2.2 Sector Command headquarters of the FRSC, Ogun State Command, was presided over by Chief Magistrate O.T. Odubanjo and targeted motorists accused of various road safety violations across key routes in the state.
A statement signed by Odunsi Afolabi, Superintendent Route Commander and Public Relations Officer, FRSC Ogun Sector Command, stated that the offenders were found guilty, with no discharges recorded.
However, despite the high number of convictions, no offender was sentenced to imprisonment.
Odunsi stated that in all, 46 offences were documented and fined, reflecting what the sector command described as a firm commitment to enforcing road discipline.

According to him, the offences ranged from violations involving speed limit devices and driver’s licences to overloading, seat belt infractions, vehicle licensing issues, and number plate irregularities.
The state Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, reiterated that the mobile court initiative remains a crucial tool in the command’s broader strategy to reduce road traffic crashes and fatalities.
He noted that the zero-discharge outcome highlights both the thoroughness of enforcement and the judiciary’s resolve to ensure accountability among road users.
The FRSC emphasised that the exercise serves as a strong warning to motorists, reinforcing its zero-tolerance stance on traffic violations and its ongoing commitment to safeguarding lives and property on Nigerian roads.
