The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra Sector Command, has reaffirmed its commitment to reducing road traffic crashes, injuries and fatalities by 10 per cent through intensified public enlightenment and community engagement.
Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekauno, made the pledge at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Igbo Ukwu, in Aguata Local Government Area, during the command’s Church Advocacy Programme aimed at sensitising worshippers on critical road safety practices.
Addressing the congregation, Asekauno explained that the initiative was structured to deepen road safety consciousness, encourage responsible road use and ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations as part of efforts to curb crashes across Anambra State.

She urged motorists, commercial drivers, motorcyclists and pedestrians to adopt safe road practices and serve as ambassadors of road safety within their communities.
The programme featured the distribution of educational flyers and awareness materials to reinforce the safety messages delivered during the service. An interactive session was also held, providing worshippers the opportunity to seek clarification on road safety issues.
In his response, the officiating priest, Rev. Emmanuel Nwankwo, commended the Sector Commander and her team for the outreach. He offered prayers for the corps and assured the church’s continued support in promoting compliance with road safety directives among members.
The event was attended by the Unit Commander of RS5.35 Igbo Ukwu Unit Command, other staff members and Special Marshals, underscoring collaboration between the FRSC and faith-based organisations in advancing safer roads across the state.
