Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara has expressed sadness over the death of a forest guard, Mr Omotosho Samuel, who was killed during an encounter with suspected kidnappers in Koro community, Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.

This is contained in a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Rafiu Ajakaye, on Wednesday in Ilorin.

AbdulRazaq commended the bravery and patriotism of the forest guards and local vigilantes who engaged the fleeing kidnappers.

The governor also announced a N10million support for the family of the deceased operative, as a token of the government’s appreciation for his sacrifice, describing him as a hero in the collective fight against banditry.

He commiserated with the family of Mr Samuel and his colleagues who fought alongside him.

“He is our hero, and we ask God to grant comfort to his family,” the governor said

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), recalls that the Koro community in Ekiti Local Government was ambushed and attacked by on Feb. 8, where one of the forest guard, Samuel was killed by bandits.
