A top contender for the governorship ticket of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Dr Samuel Mawuyon Ajose, has pledged to secure at least 3.5 million votes for the party and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

He said many of the votes would come from members of Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Worldwide in Lagos State.

Ajose added that his campaign team had started reaching out to other religious, community and youth groups across Lagos to build a wider coalition and make sure everyone was included in the effort to vote for Tinubu and the APC.

The governorship hopeful gave the promise during the Special Easter Service held by Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide at its headquarters in Makoko, Lagos.

He expressed delight about the massive turnout of the faithful at the special service, saying what the church could offer the ruling party in terms of votes at the polls could not be ignored.

Ajose told reporters, in response to questions, that the church prayed for President Tinubu, economic growth and ongoing peace in the country.

He said the distribution of food items to the congregation was in the spirit of the season, which was love for mankind, adding that a similar exercise had been organised for Muslims and traditionalists.

The governorship aspirant, who said he was born at Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide Headquarters in Makoko, noted that ‘’these efforts are meant to help ease the hardships many Nigerians face.’’

He promised to run an inclusive government if elected.

The Special Easter Service was conducted by His Eminence, Rev. Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, Pastor and Spiritual Head of Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide.

Ajose was joined on the visit by members of his campaign team, the SMA Advisory/Strategic Council. Those present included Chief Rasheed Shobaloju, a former House of Representatives member for Badagry Federal Constituency, Rafeequat Onabamiro and Apesin Bola Gbabinjo.
