A leading Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Olufemi Ajadi, has felicitated Muslims and Christians on the commencement of Ramadan and Lent.

Ajadi in a statement rejoiced with Muslims and Christians on the beginning of Ramadan and Lent the same day, urging adherents to live peacefully with one another

He said the coincidence of the commencement of Ramadan and Lent was a testimony that the faithful of the two religions worshipped the same God.

Ajadi advised Muslims and Christians to pray for the country.

He said: “Nigeria is going through a lot of hardships. The economic problems and the prevailing insecurity require our prayers and we should use the opportunity of the time of pureness to seek the face of Almighty God.

“The coincidence of the beginning of Ramadan and Lent is a creation of God to show us that we are worshipping the same God.

“Let’s live peacefully, tolerate one another and pray for the success of those in government.

“The two religions, Islam and Christianity, have taught us the need to respect and pray for our leaders.

“I wish Muslims and Christians happy Ramadan and Lent. Let’s use the period to reflect on the love, tolerance and peaceful living the two religions preach.”
