Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat has intensified consultations with party elders and other stakeholders on his governorship ambition.

Although he has not publicly declared his intention, he has been warmly received by members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dr. Hamzat has visited and received the blessings of Prince Oluyole Olusi, GAC and Justice Forum leader, and Otunba Busura Alebiosu, chairman of Justice Forum.

The two eminent politicians were contemporaries of his illustrious father, Alhaji Olatunji Hamzat, an ‘Awoist’ and Second Republic Transportation Commissioner in Lagos State.

Accompanied by Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Works Special Adviser Dr. Adekunle Olayinka and Rasak Ajala, former Ojuwoye Council chairman, the deputy governor discussed the subject matters of succession, good governance, party unity and cohesion, and mobilisation of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election.

While he was received by Olusi and Alebiosu on Monday, he visited the former Speaker of the House of Assembly, Yemi Ikuforiji, on Tuesday.
