A political group, Better Nigeria Movement (BNM), has thrown its weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 and urged a former lawmaker, Mayowa Akinfolarin, to contest  Ondo South senatorial seat.

The group, led by Oke Adeola, said the call followed consultations with stakeholders across Ilaje, Ese-Odo, Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo and Odigbo federal constituencies, noting the region needed experienced leadership at the executive and legislative levels.

Adeola, speaking on behalf of the group, said the endorsement of Tinubu and Akinfolarin was based on their track record and perceived capacity to drive development in Ondo South and beyond.

He said: “Our position is clear and deliberate. We are calling on President Tinubu to seek a second term, and we are equally urging Akinfolarin to represent Ondo South in the Senate from 2027.”

The group said Akinfolarin’s performance as a two-term member of the House of Representatives and former chairman of the House Committee on Federal Road Safety Commission proved him to be a tested politician.
