A group, Creek to Creek Movement, a civil society organisation dedicated to environmental awareness, sustainability and due process in the oil and gas sector, has thrown its weight behind Tantita Security Services amidst calls by some for the termination of the pipeline surveillance contract.

In a statement by the Conveners, Comr Jefe Abido, Comr Ajibade Smith, Comr Chima Samuel Obririnank, the group urged the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to continue with the contract and described those behind the unpopular move as unduly obsessed with sabotaging the oil and gas sector for personal gains.

The group said: "It has come to our notice that enemies of the current administration and by extension Nigeria are scheming to plunge the oil rich region into another episode of illegal oil bunkering, violence and bloodshed to advance their selfish agenda.

"To overlook the good work Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited is doing and concentrate on the value of the contract is nothing but envy, jealous and plain hatred for the peace and security in the creeks which has resulted to seamless oil exploration and refining.

"President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must as a matter of national security and economic growth sustain this contract. Even though it was an inherited project, its continuity will help to sustain the peace and calm currently recorded in the Niger Delta region.

"With the high inflow of foreign investments into the Niger Delta, it is clear that Tantita Security Services has restored investor confidence with many jobs created and local content enhanced. Those calling for the termination of the pipeline surveillance contract are nothing but saboteurs and must be ignored.

"Our findings indicate that there has been a reduction in pipeline vandalism and pollution which has made it possible for farmers and fishermen to thrive with the efforts of communities and Tantita operations. As the leading voice of the Niger Delta region, we insist that the Government should continue the Tantita Surveillance contract"

The group called on Nigerians to stand solidly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Tantita Security Services for "sustained security, increased production output and prosperity of the Nigerian economy.."
