Group hails Ododo for establishing Safety Institute

Kogi Governor, Ahmed Ododo has been praised for facilitating the establishment of the Institute of Safety Professionals in the state.

Chairman, State branch of the Institute, Friday Sani, gave the commendation yesterday when he led members of the group on a visit to state Council Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Seidu Ademu, in Lokoja.

Sani, who also was a former member of the state House Assembly, said the Institute would help promote safety and standard in every field of human endeavors

He stressed the need for people to embrace compliance with safety protocols and standards.

The chairman further lauded Ododo for ensuring the registration of indigenous members of the Institute free and provision of logistics support to boost its activities.

He expressed the readiness of the institute to partner the NUJ in line with this year’s theme of International Day for Safety, “Ensuring a healthy psychological environment for all.”

“People should endeavour to embrace safety standards as well as maintenance of workforce safety and workers protection,” he advised.

 Ademu assured of journalists’ compliance with the safety measures.

“We will collaborate with the Institute of Safety Professionals, Kogi branch in its awareness and sensitization efforts on safety and standard in human activities,” he assured.
