The Kosere Movement, led by Ogunkuade Oluwatosin Jasper, has rehabilitated a solar-powered motorised borehole serving the Ilaro community in Ikogosi-Ekiti, restoring residents' access to clean and reliable water.

The rehabilitation work included replacing the solar-powered submersible pump, damaged solar panels, cables, taps and other key components. It also involved cleaning the overhead tank, returning the facility to full operation.

At the official handover ceremony, the Chairman of the Kosere Movement, Ogunkuade Oluwatosin Jasper, represented by Senior Comrade Ibukun Fagbohungbe, reaffirmed that access to clean water is a basic necessity for every community.

“This intervention is about restoring dignity to our people. Today, this facility stands as a symbol of responsible leadership and improved public health in the Ilaro community.”

He emphasised the importance of proper execution and monitoring of public projects and encouraged community members to take ownership of shared infrastructure to ensure sustainability.

He also directed the project engineer to survey nearby communities and identify similar water projects that could be revived to improve livelihoods at the grassroots level, noting that the initiative is part of a broader community development effort.

Community leaders, led by Chief Ayo Ademilua, the Asaoye of Ikogosi, alongside representatives of the Balesi of Ikogosi-Ekiti, expressed appreciation to the Kosere Movement and Ogunkuade Oluwatosin Jasper for what they described as a timely intervention. They commended his commitment to community welfare and offered prayers for continued opportunities to serve the people.

Residents said the restored borehole is expected to ease the burden of sourcing water and improve sanitation and overall quality of life.

The intervention underscores the role of community-driven initiatives in improving essential services and enhancing grassroots development.
