Amalgamated Mohammed Dele Belgore (MDB) support groups have endorsed the 2027 governorship aspiration of Belgore.

He was the Kwara State governorship candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in 2011.

The groups said: ‘’We register our support for the ambition of our leader, Mohammed Dele Belgore (SAN), to become the next governor of the state in  2027.’’

The groups comprise Emirate Vision, MDB Solidarity Group, MDB Crew, Purple Ladies, ActionWomen, MDB Visionary Network, Campaign for Change, G12, Igbehinadun MDB Forum and MDB Ambassadors.

Addressing reporters in Ilorin, spokesperson for the groups, Alhaji Lawal Adefalu, described Belgore as the “most consistent change advocates that birthed the Otoge administration and has supported the Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq government.

“MDB’s advocacy wasn’t convenient or opportunistic. When it was not fashionable to run against the dynasty, MDB ran one of the most daring campaigns for change in Kwara State in 2011 and history bears testament to this.

“His campaign remains a reference point in pragmatic political activism and advocacy for good governance.

“We therefore call on APC stakeholders at all levels to support Belgore, who we believe has been a stabiliser and a cool-headed technocrat with clear record of struggle for a better Kwara State.

“We believe strongly that MDB’s nomination as the APC standard-bearer will immediately set the opposition parties into political confusion as a result of his wide appeal.”
