The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has expressed strong optimism about a growing partnership with Toptier Sports Management aimed at transforming the Nigerian National League (NNL).

Speaking on the investment, Gusau described the collaboration as a significant step toward repositioning Nigeria's second-tier league for greater professionalism, transparency, and commercial viability.

"I'm happy about our partnership with Toptier Sports Management. When they came to me, I gave them all the support needed and I see more prospects in this relationship. We are determined to put in a lot of effort to ensure it continues to progress, and we will give Toptier all the support required," he said.

The NFF president stressed that a major goal of the partnership is to enhance the league's visibility through live broadcast of matches — an area that has historically limited the NNL's growth and reach.

"We're doing all we need to do to ensure matches are televised live. This investment is just the beginning of many great things, and we'll see even more improvements next season. They're working hand-in-hand to change the entire structure, and this will enable greater transparency and visibility," Gusau added.

A key highlight of the initiative is the commitment to broadcast the Super 4 tournament live from Ikenne, signaling a new era for the league in terms of media exposure and fan engagement.

"The Super 4 in Ikenne will be aired live, and we're determined to build on this and achieve more," he stated.

Toptier Sports Management's involvement is widely seen as a strategic move to attract private sector investment into Nigerian football, improve league organisation, and create a more competitive environment for clubs and players.

With restructuring, improved officiating standards, and broader media coverage among the priorities, stakeholders believe the partnership will strengthen the NNL and the overall football ecosystem in Nigeria.
