All arrangements have been concluded for the formal declaration of Abdulrahman Bashir Haske’s intention to contest the 2027 Adamawa State governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The declaration rally is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola, with organisers projecting a turnout of about 50,000 supporters and political stakeholders from within and outside the state.
In a statement issued by his Publicity Secretary, Abdulgaffar Ahmed, the event is expected to draw APC leaders and members, political allies, support groups, as well as women and youth organisations aligned with Haske’s vision.

The rally will also feature an endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, underscoring its broader political significance.
A key highlight of the event will be the unveiling of Haske’s policy framework, the Adamawa A.R.I.S.E Agenda, which focuses on accountable governance, economic resilience, infrastructure development, environmental sustainability, social development, and security.

The agenda is positioned as a response to key socio-economic challenges in the state, including high poverty levels, reliance on federal allocations, and rising youth unemployment.
Haske, an entrepreneur and philanthropist, has gained increasing support from APC stakeholders and advocacy groups ahead of the 2027 race. At recent party congresses, some leaders endorsed him as a preferred aspirant, describing him as a forward-looking candidate with a clear development agenda.

Support has also come from women’s groups, youth organizations, and community-based structures, many of which have cited his philanthropic activities, including agricultural support programs and humanitarian interventions.
Political observers note that the declaration could shape the dynamics of the upcoming governorship contest, with growing interest around Haske’s candidacy and its potential impact on the APC primaries scheduled for May 23.
At 36, Haske is seen by supporters as part of a new generation of political actors, bringing a background in enterprise and organisational leadership into the political space.
Analysts suggest his entry into the race signals a possible shift toward capacity-driven leadership and increased youth participation in Adamawa politics.
