Several farmers have been attacked by suspected herders at Uhomora, Owan West Local Government Area, Edo State, where the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, hails from.

Some farmers at Ozalla community were also attacked.

The attack occurred separately on Monday night.

Agbebaku expressed sadness over the attack.

He said the farmers were eking a living from the farmland when they were attacked.

Agbebaku called for calm and vowed to ensure justice prevails.

He promised to pay hospital bills for the victims. He thanked God that no life was lost in the incident.

The speaker urged affected residents not to take laws into their hands, saying that his promises to ensure security of lives and property for the people in Owan West Constituency would be done.
