Media personality KieKie has revealed how she balances sharing content online while keeping parts of her personal life private.

Speaking at The Creative Blueprint event hosted by actress and producer Funke Akindele, Kiekie explained that she's created a clear line between her personal life and brand.

“If you pay attention to my content, you’ll realise that I have mastered the art of sharing. I’ve created a very thick line between what is personal to me as Oluwabukunmi Adeaga Ilori and what is personal to my brand as KieKie," she said.

KieKie said her content focuses on comedy, events, and hosting, and she only shares what's relevant to her brand.

“What are the elements of my brand? Event and TV host, actor, and content creator. What is my content? Comic," she said.

According to her, she keeps her husband out of the spotlight, saying "he's not even funny," but her daughter occasionally appears due to her interest in content creation.

“They say, 'Why is she hiding her husband? But he’s not even funny. So why should he be in my content?” She asked.

“For my daughter, you see Nola on my socials because the girl was made for the camera. I see it in her. I’m where I am today because my parents didn’t hold me back, so I’m not going to hold her," she said.

She added that her daughter only participates during school breaks.

“Nola only makes content when she’s on break. If she’s not on holiday, she’s not making content. So you’ll see her at some point, and at some point you won’t,” she said.

She also warned creators against overusing viral moments, advising them to focus on originality instead.

“Sometimes when we have viral moments, we overmilk it until it becomes annoying, and that’s where oversharing comes in.

“You wore something, and it went viral." Who asked you to go and sew the black, the green, the yellow?” She questioned.

She encouraged creators to focus on originality, saying, “When something goes viral, it’s a reminder to do more because where that came from, there’s more.”
