The Chairman of Iba Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr. Jubril Yisa, has inaugurated the Alape Link Road, describing the project as a major boost to connectivity, economic activities, and the overall quality of life of residents in the area.

Yisa said the newly completed road represented the council’s commitment to grassroots development and addressing long-standing infrastructural challenges faced by the community.

He noted that roads were vital to social and economic growth, as they connect people to schools, markets, healthcare facilities, and other essential services.

According to him, residents of the area had for many years endured difficulties due to poor road conditions, which made movement slow, uncomfortable, and sometimes unsafe.

He explained that the Alape Link Road had provided a durable and reliable alternative that would ease transportation and enhance the movement of goods and services.

“The completion of this road will not only make daily life easier for our people but also open up new economic opportunities for businesses and encourage social interaction within the community,” the chairman said.

Yisa expressed appreciation to community leaders, elders, youth groups, residents, contractors, and engineers who contributed to the successful execution of the project. He described the road as a product of collective effort and cooperation between the local government and the community.

The council chairman also urged residents to take ownership of the road by ensuring its proper use and maintenance. He warned against activities that could damage the infrastructure and stressed the importance of keeping the drainage and surrounding environment clean to prolong the lifespan of the project.

He added that the Alape Link Road was part of a broader development agenda aimed at strengthening infrastructure at the grassroots level, improving safety, and fostering economic and social growth across Iba LCDA.

Yisa expressed optimism that the road would serve as a catalyst for development, unity, and prosperity in the community, while reaffirming the council’s commitment to initiating more people-oriented projects.
