The Commissioner for Sports Development, Bayelsa State, Honourable Daniel Igali, has congratulated the state’s Deputy Governor , Dr. Peter Pereotubo Akpe, on his 55th birthday, describing him as a reliable, hardworking, supportive and committed partner to Governor DuoyeDiri. Igali in a statement, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sports Development, Pereyi Efeke, staff, and the entire sports family in the state,  eulogised the leadership qualities of the state number two man.

Expressing confidence that the cordial relationship between him  and Governor Diri would bring good governance and the delivery of democratic dividends to Bayelsa State over the past years

 Igali praised Dr. Akpe for his continued efforts in promoting sports through mentorship and encouragement of Bayelsa youths even before his time as Deputy Governor

Igali expressed belief that sportsmen in the state would continue to strive under his Excellency as supervisor and prayed God Almighty to keep him in perfect health and soundness of mind.

An A-list of the country’s sports administrators were yesterday  unveiled  as nominees for this year’s Sportsville Special Recognition Award.

The organizers of the award rolled out the names in an elaborate ceremony in Lagos yestetday.

The awards presentation ceremony will be held on March 28 at the Lagos Country Club in Ikeja. This will be the sixth in the series, which began in 2020.
