Ikeja swears in council excos, advisers

The Chairman of Ikeja Local Council Development Area, Akeem Dauda, has sworn in the newly appointed Secretary to the Local Government, Supervisors and Special Advisers, charging them to work diligently for the development of the council.

He said that many of the newly appointed officials had previously served in various capacities within the council, describing them as tested and experienced individuals capable of delivering results.

He said the people of Ikeja have placed their trust in the administration, stressing that the new appointees must justify that confidence through dedication and impactful governance.

He expressed confidence that the team would support his administration in fulfilling its promises to residents, noting that the success of the government would ultimately be judged by the people.

“In the next two years, Ikeja will be the dream of local governments in Nigeria,” he said.

He urged the new officials to align their work with the Ikeja Agenda, the administration’s development blueprint, aimed at improving service delivery, promoting inclusive governance and enhancing the welfare of residents.

One of the supervisors, Ayotunde Adenuga, who was the immediate past Leader of the Ikeja Legislative Council, said his appointment presented an opportunity to further contribute to the development of the local government.

He noted that governance required teamwork and pledged to support the chairman in achieving the administration’s goals.

Adenuga also assured residents that the new team would work with excellence to ensure meaningful progress for Ikeja communities.
