National Space Research and Development Agency  and Grassroots Bridge Builders have urged stakeholders to intensify support for skills acquisition as part of efforts to address youth unemployment and social vices in the country.

Director-General and Chief Executive of GBB, Ibrahim Igoche, spoke at the opening of NASRDA/GBB Skills Development Project at Women Development Centre, Abuja.

NASRDA Director-General, Dr. Matthew Adepoju, said skills acquisition extends beyond job creation, describing it as a tool for empowerment, innovation and societal transformation.

Represented by his Director of Media and Corporate Communications, Dr. Felix Ale, Adepoju said equipping youths with practical skills aligns with NASRDA’s mandate of using science and space-based solutions to drive socio-economic development.

Chair of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd), advised youths to avoid drugs and embrace skills development as a pathway to personal and societal growth.

Marwa, who was represented by NDLEA Secretary, Shedrach Haruna, described skills acquisition as an effective means of redirecting youthful energy towards productive engagement.

Stakeholders at the event emphasised the importance of sustained investment in skills development to foster inclusive growth and national development.
