Nigeria may have missed out on the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but the Super Eagles remain a highly rated opponent on the global stage — with World Cup-bound Portugal and European side Poland both seeking them out for high-profile warm-up fixtures in June.

NFF FIFA Match Agent Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sport confirmed on Thursday that Nigeria will face Poland at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw on June 3, before travelling to Portugal on June 10 for a clash with the Seleção das Quinas — with the venue to be announced in the coming days.

The match against Portugal will serve as the hosts' final preparation before they depart for North America to compete at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico. That a side of Portugal's calibre — one of the tournament favourites — has chosen Nigeria as their last warm-up opponent is a powerful statement of the Super Eagles' standing in world football.

Poland, meanwhile, have also identified Nigeria as the ideal test ahead of their own continental commitments, further underlining the respect the three-time African champions command beyond their own confederation.

Before the June fixtures, the Super Eagles are scheduled to defend their title at the Unity Cup Tournament in London, running from May 26 to 30.
