Liverpool secured a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace to further strengthen their push for a European finish.

Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Andrew Robertson were all on the scoresheet as Liverpool eased past Palace.

Most notable was Isak, who joined Liverpool for a reported €125 million fee during the summer in a transfer window described by many pundits as lavish spending.

The striker was expected to lead Liverpool’s expensive frontline, but his season took a difficult turn after losing his place to French international Hugo Ekitiké. He then suffered a broken leg injury in December during a match against Tottenham Hotspur, ruling him out for four months.

Isak recently returned to the starting lineup and marked his comeback with a goal against Crystal Palace. The forward latched onto a pass from Mohamed Salah before calmly slotting the ball into the back of the net.

Liverpool now sit fourth on the table with 58 points and remain on course for a top-four finish after a turbulent season.
