‘It’s Akinyele’s turn to produce Rep not Lagelu’
All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives aspirants, chieftains and members of the party in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State have said it is their turn to produce

All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives aspirants, chieftains and members of the party in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State have said it is their turn to produce candidate for Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency in 2027.
They urged the party to respect rotational agreement on choice of its candidate for the constituency, particularly as it relates to the coming House of Representatives election.
A letter signed by Murphy Adigun, Sulaiman Ajibade, Olumide Alli, Bolaji Badmus, AbdulWasiu Ajao and all aspirants from Akinyele Local Government, among others, said based on existing rotation arrangement, it was the turn of Akinyele to produce the next Reps candidate.
The stakeholders lamented that there was no formal communication confirming nomination of an aspirant from Akinyele, nor any directive by leaders to choose a consensus aspirant till now.
According to them, the situation has raised concerns because there is perception that the agreed rotation principle may not be honoured, and that the current office holder may be allowed to continue in office contrary to their expectations.
“We are particularly worried about implications of this development on the morale of party members and supporters in Akinyele. A failure to uphold this agreement risks eroding trust in the party’s internal processes and leadership, and may weaken the unity and commitment of our grassroots base.
“We respectfully request clarity on the party’s position regarding the rotation communication, and adherence to established agreements will reinforce confidence in the party and strengthen our collective pursuit of success in the upcoming elections.
“This letter represents collective position of all aspirants from Akinyele Local Government, as endorsed by the undersigned. It will be important to note that most party leaders from Lagelu have agreed to the rotation. We therefore beseech you to use your office and intervene in this matter.”
