A political pressure group within the All Progressives Congress in Jigawa State, the Hyper Progressive Movement (HPM), has unveiled a mobilisation fund of over N4.8 million and two vehicles to advance its pledge of delivering two million votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

The group said the initiative aligns with Governor Umar Namadi’s earlier commitment that Jigawa would secure two million votes for the President’s second-term bid under the “4+4” political agenda.

The contributions were announced during HPM’s general meeting held at the Manpower Development Institute in Dutse. Members also urged philanthropist, Ambassador Halima Sulaiman Zakari, to contest the Jigawa South-East senatorial seat in 2027.

Speaking with journalists after the meeting, the group’s chairman, Dr. Bashir Musa Muhammad, described the mobilisation drive as part of a structured grassroots campaign aimed at consolidating support for Tinubu’s re-election ambition.

“After wide consultations with elders, youths and critical stakeholders across Jigawa South-East, we resolved to mobilise massively for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umar Namadi and all APC candidates in 2027,” he said.

Muhammad disclosed that the group had set a target of registering at least 10,000 committed members to canvass support across polling units in the senatorial district and beyond.

According to him, the N4.8 million and two vehicles donated by members and supporters would be deployed for grassroots sensitisation, voter education and mobilisation efforts aimed at surpassing the two million votes benchmark.

“We are confident that Jigawa will not only meet but exceed the two million votes promised to President Tinubu. The people have seen the Renewed Hope agenda in action and are ready to consolidate on the gains of this administration,” he stated.

On the call for Ambassador Zakari to join the senatorial race, the HPM chairman said the appeal followed what he described as her “track record of community development and selfless service.”

He claimed that Zakari had executed projects worth over N12 billion in education, youth and women empowerment, as well as ongoing erosion control interventions across parts of the state.

“We believe she has the capacity, vision and grassroots connection to represent Jigawa South-East effectively at the Senate. Democracy offers the people the opportunity to choose credible leaders, and when you find one, you must encourage her to serve,” Muhammad added.

The group reiterated its commitment to working for the re-election of Tinubu and Namadi under the APC platform, insisting that Jigawa would remain a stronghold of the ruling party in 2027.
