Jigawa, Kano, and Lagos states are currently leading the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), which began in January, data from the commission has revealed.
The data, which INEC released last night, showed that about 210,868 eligible voters have registered in Jigawa during the second phase, Kano registered 196,486, while Lagos has registered 192,075 eligible voters.
The data also revealed that Ekiti State registered 32,475 eligible voters during the current exercise, putting the state at the bottom of the log. It is followed by Anambra, with 33,826 voters, Ondo, Enugu, and Plateau with 35,280, 40,178 and 52,564 eligible voters.

On a zonal basis, the Northwest leads the pack with 1,116,770 eligible voters, followed by the Northcentral with 632,055, the Southwest with 600,583, the Northeast with 545,037, the Southsouth with 535,204, and the Southeast with 321,690.
A total of 1,666,343, representing 44.45 per cent, are males, while 2,082,361, representing 55.55 per cent, are females.
The CVR started last August ahead of the preparations for the 2027 general election and is expected to be concluded in August of this year.
Nigerians who are yet to register or have attained the age of 18 since the last general election in 2023 are expected to participate in the exercise.
