Former Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, is set to hand over to Acting IGP Tunji Disu, as the transition process unfolds following his resignation.
The handover ceremony, initially scheduled for 2 p.m., is yet to commence as of press time, with dignitaries already gathered at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Egbetokun resigned on Tuesday, citing family reasons. His resignation was subsequently accepted by President Bola Tinubu, who appointed Disu as Acting Inspector-General of Police the same day.
Sources indicated that both Egbetokun and Disu were at the Presidential Villa for the official decoration ceremony before proceeding to the Force Headquarters for the formal transfer of leadership of the Nigeria Police Force.
Meanwhile, the development is expected to trigger the compulsory retirement of eight senior Deputy Inspectors-General of Police.
