Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin has declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in the state.
In a statement posted on his X page (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Ogundoyin said his decision followed consultations across party structures and interest groups.
He said, "Leaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across Ibarapaland, at our zonal meeting today, made a clear and compelling call for me to throw my hat in the ring for the 2027 Governorship election in Oyo State.
"In direct response to this, I have formally declared my intention to contest. This decision goes beyond personal ambition.
