An APC aspirant for Lere West State Constituency, Tom Garba, has called for transparency and internal democracy in selecting the party’s candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
Garba called after submitting his nomination and expression of interest forms at the APC Secretariat in Kaduna, noting that a fair process would strengthen party unity and electoral success.
The journalist and publisher said he is ready to contest through direct primaries or accept a consensus candidate, provided the process is inclusive and just.
“I am open to either consensus or direct primaries, as long as it reflects fairness and strengthens the party,” he said.

He stressed that any consensus arrangement must emerge from broad consultations involving all aspirants and stakeholders.
Garba also cautioned against linking Governor Uba Sani to any perceived endorsement, noting that he is committed to a fair process.
He added that he is preparing for the scheduled primaries while expressing confidence in the party’s leadership at the state and local levels.
