In a significant stride towards enhancing security in Kano State, the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, announced a remarkable decrease in criminal activities in the state.

Speaking at a press briefing in Kano on Tuesday, Bakori attributed the success to implementing key strategies such as enhanced community policing, intelligence-led policing, and capacity building for officers.

The success of 'Operation Kukan Kura,' which has contained thuggery and violence in the state, was also highlighted.

The operation has been instrumental in liberating the state from bandit infiltration, in collaboration with the Kano State Government and other security agencies.

The police command has also made significant progress leveraging open-source intelligence to identify suspected drug dealers, with over 2000 names received and currently being verified.

While acknowledging challenges ahead, Bakori assured citizens of the command's commitment to protecting them and maintaining peace in the state.
