Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum (KPSF) has flagged off the distribution of Ramadan food items valued at N300 million to Muslims across Kogi East Senatorial District, beginning from Dekina Local Government Area.

The ceremony, held on Tuesday at Odu in Dekina Local Government Area, attracted party faithful, community leaders and beneficiaries from the 12 wards of the council area. Each ward received 50 bags of rice as part of the first phase of the distribution exercise.

Coordinator of the forum, Hon. Philip Sani, while speaking said the initiative was designed to support the Muslim Ummah during the holy month of Ramadan and ensure that relief materials reach the grassroots.

Sani explained that the flag-off in Dekina was symbolic.

“Our intention is to assist our Muslim Ummah who are fasting. We want the rice and other food items to reach the grassroots.

“Dekina Local Government played an important part in the election; that is why we have to start from here".

Sani while speaking further, commended the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sunday Karimi, describing him as a performing lawmaker whose support was instrumental to the success of the programme.

“Senator Karimi was instrumental to today’s programme. This rice is supported by the distinguished senator in support of our Muslim brothers".

Sani further noted that the lawmaker has consistently demonstrated unalloyed support for the re-election of President Ahmed Tinubu.

“We all know Senator Karimi’s unalloyed support for President Tinubu’s re-election".

He emphasised that the forum was not in conflict with the state government, stressing that its current priority remains political mobilisation and humanitarian outreach.

The event took place at the country home of the Chairman of the forum and former Governor of Kogi State, Idris Wada.

Highlights of the ceremony included the symbolic distribution of food items to selected beneficiaries by Hon. Sani and other officials of the forum.

One of the beneficiaries, Haruna Mohammed, expressed appreciation to the organisers, describing the intervention as timely in view of the economic realities facing many families during the fasting period.

The KPSF said the Ramadan outreach reflects its commitment to community support and sustained engagement with grassroots stakeholders across Kogi East
