All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant, Femi Sanni, an engineer, yesterday picked expression of interest and nomination forms for Kwara State governorship race, formally signalling his entry into the contest.

He obtained the forms at Ladi Kwali Hall of Abuja Continental Hotel in Abuja.

Speaking after the exercise, Sanni thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as an enabling environment for aspirants to participate in the process, noting that the party’s approach reflected internal democratic principles.

“I want to sincerely thank President Tinubu for creating an enabling environment where aspirants like myself can freely express their ambitions. What we are seeing today is a demonstration of democratic values within our party,” he said.

He acknowledged the role of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, noting that the process in the state had been open to aspirants.

“I must also appreciate Governor AbdulRazaq for ensuring a level-playing field for all contenders,” Sanni said.

The aspirant said he had held consultations across Kwara North, Central and South districts and that his decision to contest was informed by feedback from stakeholders and residents.

“Our consultations across Kwara North, Central and South have been very encouraging. The message from the grassroots is clear that our people want purposeful leadership, economic expansion and inclusive governance,” he said.
