A forum of prominent labour organisations in the country, Working People United (WoPU), has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it called his administration’s bold and decisive steps and reforms to reposition the country for long-term stability and growth.

WoPU’s National Coordinator, who is also the President of Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Williams Akporeha, said this in a statement felicitating President Tinubu on his 74th birthday.

Acknowledging that the economic policies of the present administration were tough and challenging, the forum maintained that “with sustained consistency, strong leadership, and a shared national commitment, Nigeria will emerge stronger and more prosperous”. The labour group expressed the hope that the present administration’s four-year tenure would be “marked by impactful leadership, a lasting legacy, and the fulfilment of the promise of a greater Nigeria”.

The statement reads: “On this special day, Working People United (WoPU), a like-minded labour support movement, joins millions of well-meaning Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to celebrate one of the greatest sons of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) — a statesman, a reformer, and a leader whose journey continues to shape the direction of our nation.

“Mr. President, we celebrate not just your birthday, but the resilience, courage, and consistency that define your leadership. From your years of political struggle to your present role as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, your path reflects a lifelong commitment to public service and nation-building.

“At a time when Nigeria faces complex economic and social realities, your administration has taken bold and decisive steps to reposition the country for long-term stability and growth. These decisions, though challenging, reflect the hallmark of a leader willing to act in the best interest of future generations.

“We recognise the weight of leadership and the sacrifices it demands. As working people, we see both the challenges and the possibilities ahead. We remain confident that with sustained consistency, strong leadership, and a shared national commitment, Nigeria will emerge stronger and more prosperous.

“On this occasion, we pray that you are granted renewed strength, a sound mind and body, clarity of purpose, and the wisdom required to lead this great nation through this pivotal moment in its history.

“May the years ahead be marked by impactful leadership, a lasting legacy, and the fulfilment of the promise of a greater Nigeria.”
