Residents of Egbe/Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos have begun to experience improved road conditions as the council intensifies the grading of 100 roads across the area.
The initiative, driven by the administration of the Chairman, Hon. Dr. Prince Idris Balogun, popularly known as Oluomo Kafata, and the Vice Chairman, Hon. Omotayo Ayinde, is aimed at enhancing road accessibility, easing movement and improving the daily lives of residents.
The council had earlier procured an excavator and a roller to accelerate infrastructure development within the LCDA, a move officials say is already yielding visible results across several communities.

Residents have welcomed the ongoing grading exercise, expressing satisfaction with the improvement in road conditions and the impact on mobility within the council area.
Council officials are closely supervising the exercise to ensure quality and efficiency. Among those overseeing the operations are the Vice Chairman, Hon. Omotayo Ayinde; the Chief of Staff, Hon. Lukmon Idowu; the Leader of the House, Hon. Anike Hassan; and Hon. Semiu Ayinla.

Other councilors involved in the supervision include Comrade Bolaji Jacob (Egbe/Liasu Ward E), Hon. Monsuru (Ward B), Hon. Segun Sanni (Ward D), and Hon. Bankole (Ward A), alongside the Vice Chairman’s Personal Assistant, Ayinde Yusuf (AY), and the LCDA engineering team.
The grading exercise commenced from Ward A and has already covered several roads, including Prince Akeem Balogun Street, Baale Musa Abogunloko Street, Olanipekun Street, Primate Ayodele Street, Gloryland Road, Saliu Balogun Street, and the Powerline route linking Gloryland Estate to Isheri Olofin.
Other areas benefiting from the intervention include Egba, Bakare-Idowu, and Greenland Estate, among others.
According to council officials, the project will extend to all five wards within the LCDA to ensure broader access to improved road infrastructure, safer movement and enhanced connectivity for residents and businesses.
The council leadership said the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen community development through infrastructure improvement and strategic planning across Egbe/Idimu LCDA.
