Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command arrested three suspected armed robbers over alleged involvement in a series of robbery incidents at an estate in Sangotedo, recovering firearms, ammunition, and other incriminating items.

The suspects, identified as Balogun Teslim, Suleman Balogun, and Peter Oluwagbemi, were apprehended following a distress call linked to robbery operations carried out within the estate.

Police sources said items recovered from the suspects included a locally made pistol loaded with six rounds of live 9mm ammunition, two black face masks, a hammer, ropes, a large roll of cellophane tape, two black jackets, and a pair of pliers, suggesting a coordinated operation.

It was gathered that the suspects were mobbed by irate residents before the arrival of the police. They were, however, rescued by operatives and taken to a police medical facility, where they are currently receiving treatment.

During preliminary interrogation, two of the suspects reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crime and identified one Kinsley, said to be at large, as the gang leader.

The Command said efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspect and dismantle the criminal network.

Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, reiterated the command’s zero tolerance for violent crimes, warning residents against taking the law into their hands.

He urged members of the public to always report suspicious activities to the police, stressing that timely information remains critical to crime prevention and swift response.

Police authorities assured that all those involved in the crime would be brought to justice upon the conclusion of investigations.
