In a statement issued by the agency’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA described the claims as serious and deserving of urgent attention.

The authority stressed that it does not condone any form of misconduct, abuse of office, or extortion by its personnel.

According to the statement, the management has already initiated a “thorough, impartial and comprehensive investigation” into the matter.

It assured members of the public that any officer found guilty after due process would face appropriate disciplinary action in line with the law and the agency’s regulations.

As part of the investigative process, LASTMA has invited the individual identified as Tosin, who made the allegation, to report to the Office of the General Manager at the agency’s headquarters in Oshodi.
