Lawmaker hails Tinubu on education, others

Yishawu spoke during the graduation of the GOY Women Vocational Centre and GOY Digital Skills Hub.
He praised Federal Government’s commitment to expanding access to tertiary education and empowering youths.
According to the him, the administration’s education reforms driven through Nigerian Education Loan Fund have widened access to higher education by providing fee support and monthly stipends to students.
He noted that over one million in 322 institutions are benefiting, describing it as a major step toward ensuring every youth has unhindered access to tertiary education.
Yishawu also noted Federal Government’s support for vocational graduates and micro-enterprise professionals, including caterers, hairdressers, fashion designers and soap makers.
He said the support comes in the form of training, certification, business advisory services and access to finance.
He listed key programmes as training by National Directorate of Employment and Industrial Training Fund, certification under National Skills Qualification Framework, and entrepreneurship support through Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria. Financing opportunities, he added, are available through BoI and NIRSAL Microfinance Bank, as well as schemes like TraderMoni and MarketMoni.
The lawmaker noted that new tax reforms favour SMEs, noting enterprises with annual turnover below N100 million enjoy tax relief, enabling them to reinvest and expand..
Addressing graduates in digital fields, such as data analytics, graphic design, digital marketing, cybersecurity and UI/UX, Yishawu described the current period as an exciting time to enter the digital economy.
He cited the Federal Government’s investment in digital talent through programmes like the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme, which aims to train Nigerians and connect them to global remote work opportunities.

He added that agencies such as the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the National Youth Investment Fund, the Bank of Industry, SMEDAN and NIRSAL Microfinance Bank are providing advanced training, business support and funding for digital startups and freelancers.
Yishawu urged Nigerians, particularly youths, to remain united and supportive of the administration, stressing that the reform process requires patience, courage and collective responsibility.
“The decisions being taken today are laying the foundation for a stronger economy, better opportunities for our youths, support for small businesses and a more prosperous future for our country,” he said, calling for sustained belief and participation to ensure the continuity and full implementation of the reforms under President Tinubu’s leadership.
