According to him, periodic assessments are conducted to identify households in urgent need of assistance, noting that the food distribution was a monthly exercise which began in January and would run till December.

The chairman assured residents that the food distribution programme would continue in phases, with more communities scheduled to benefit in the coming weeks and months, assuring of an all-inclusive and transparent process.

A beneficiary, Mrs. Yemisi Oguntade, expressed gratitude to the council for the intervention.

She said such initiatives fostered social cohesion and provided relief to those struggling with economic challenges.

Also, a community leader, Mr Tunji Abiodun, commended the council chairman for remembering people at the riverine areas.

He described the food distribution as timely and impactful.
