The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force Airwing Command, has launched sustained aerial surveillance patrols across the state to strengthen intelligence-led policing and enhance public safety.
The maiden flight, conducted on Monday, covered Lagos Island and parts of the mainland in a low-altitude operation designed to demonstrate the reach and rapid response capability of the initiative.
The LSSTF said the flights were strictly for surveillance and public safety, urging residents to continue cooperating with security agencies.

Executive Secretary/CEO of LSSTF, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, described the patrol as a strategic investment in modern security infrastructure.
He said the flights would provide real-time surveillance, monitor flashpoints, deter criminal activities and improve coordinated responses across the state.
According to him, the aerial patrols will be continuous and form part of an integrated security framework.
Commissioner of Police, Airwing Command, Martin Nwogoh, said the exercise showcased the operational capacity of aerial support for surveillance, rescue missions and troop deployment when necessary. He noted that the aircraft covered major areas of the state within minutes.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, said the patrols would enhance coordination of ground and water operations. He said the command was committed to tackling criminality across the state.
