A man has reportedly gone into hiding after allegedly killing his wife, Christianah Kutelu, in Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Kutelu, said to be a staff member of a special needs school in the Ikare community, died on Wednesday under circumstances suspected to be linked to domestic violence.

Sources said the suspect allegedly conveyed the victim’s body to a morgue shortly after the incident before fleeing to an unknown destination.

Family members were said to have reported the matter to the police, raising suspicions over the husband’s possible involvement in her death.

“The Ondo State Police Command has commenced investigation into a suspected murder case reported at the Ikare Division involving the death of Mrs Christianah Kutelu, aged 51.

“The case was reported by a family member who alleged that the deceased’s husband might have been involved in acts of domestic violence leading to her death.

“The husband is currently at large, and efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend him. The corpse has been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy to determine the actual cause of death.”

Abayomi assured residents that the Command would carry out a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.
