President Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday promoted one of his aides, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari to Special Adviser on Political Affairs.
The appointment, announced in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, elevates Masari from his previous role as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs, a position he has held since 2023.
According to the statement, the new designation reflects Masari’s expanded responsibilities in supporting the President’s political engagements and coordination with key stakeholders within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and across the broader political landscape.

Masari, a seasoned party administrator and political mobiliser from Katsina State, had previously served as the Welfare Secretary of the APC during the tenure of former National Chairman, Senator Adams Oshiomhole.
His experience within the party structure and long-standing relationship with President Tinubu are expected to strengthen political coordination between the Presidency and party leaders as the administration continues to consolidate support for its policies and programmes.
With the promotion, Masari will now serve at the level of Special Adviser and work alongside Alhaji Yau Darazo, whom President Tinubu appointed as Special Adviser on Political Affairs in July 2023.
