Modibbo Adama University has matriculated a total of 8,591 undergraduate and postgraduate students into various programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The institution said the intake reflects a significant rise in enrolment, alongside notable infrastructural improvements, including uninterrupted 24-hour electricity powered by solar energy.

Vice Chancellor, Ibrahim Umar, disclosed this during the matriculation ceremony held on Thursday, providing a breakdown of admissions across faculties and colleges.

According to him, 1,966 students were admitted into the College of Postgraduate Studies, 201 into the College of Medical Sciences, and 336 into the Faculty of Agriculture.

He added that the Faculty of Computing admitted 616 students; Faculty of Education, 260; Faculty of Engineering, 504; Faculty of Law, 59; Faculty of Life Sciences, 1,225; Faculty of Physical Sciences, 264; and Faculty of Social and Management Sciences, 1,202.

In addition, 1,393 students were admitted into the Centre for Distance Learning, while 100 were enrolled in the university’s Sandwich degree programme.

“These numbers reflect our increasing capacity and the growing confidence the public has in this institution,” Umar said.

He further revealed that 132 of the newly admitted students are international, drawn from countries outside Nigeria.

Highlighting recent infrastructural developments, the vice chancellor announced that the university now enjoys round-the-clock electricity supply through a solar-powered system, a development expected to significantly enhance teaching, learning, and research activities.
